Convert legacy data to IETM (SGML or XML)
The Legacy Data Conversion Center can convert FrameMaker, Interleaf, Word, and other
XML formats to IETM. We can produce IETM output in the same way we produce any other
output format. Our IETM Conversion Tool works the same way that the other conversion
tools work and produces output with the same results.
IETM is a standard output format.
It does not matter what viewer you are using. Final IETM/IETP conversion would performed on the
converted source we provide to you (i.e., you would use something like iSilo (www.isilo.com)
to convert XML to palm (.PDB) format, or Readerworks Overdrive to convert to Microsoft eReader.
You would not convert the legacy data source to .PDB directly).
Whether you are going to eReader, Palm, Microsoft Help, JavaHelp, one of the many S1000D
viewers or a custom viewer, conversion of binary source data to a compliant, standard
output format will make the IETM/IETP conversion easier to achieve. We primariliy focus on the
binary conversion, but we can assist in further IETM/IETP conversion of compliant, source
data (SGML or XML).
Our Process
We convert the binary source and we proof the output. We verify that all text that
went in, comes out, and that it is tagged correctly based on your output requirements.
We ask that customers provide the documents to be converted, any applicable templates
and style guides, and any customization or specialization information that
you may be using in your choice of output format.

the general conversion process or see our FAQ
page.
